That is normal and expected. Under normal circumstances, except for the SublimX icon, you are not supposed to see anything. Occasionally you may note a slight flash on the screen, but nothing else.
SublimX displays its images subliminally. In other words the messages are displayed rapidly and for a brief period of time. Subliminal messages cannot be recognized consciously. You are not supposed to "see" them.
If you wish to see a slow motion version of how SublimX delivers its messages, use the Extended Display Pushbutton on the Timings Page of the Properties Dialog Box.
If you wish to see the last message delivered by SublimX, go to the Last Message Page of the Properties Dialog Box.
If you wish to preview the messages contained in a SublimX title, use the tools provided on the Browse Page of the Properties Dialog Box.
This situation may occur when you deselect all of the SublimX titles installed on your computer. If there are no titles selected, SublimX will not deliver any messages. To select a title, please go to the Titles Page of the Properties Dialog Box and select the desired title. SublimX will resume message delivery.
Please note that under certain circumstances, SublimX may temporarily suspend its message delivery operation. SublimX utilizes a sophisticated procedure for handling common difficulties that a computer program may encounter during its operation. For example, if SublimX determines that your computer is busy doing intensive work and cannot easily allocate resources, it will put itself to sleep for a short period of time. If this happens a few times, SublimX will determine that your computer is busy with other tasks and will send you a notice. For additional information, see Automatic Operation in the SublimX help file or the manual.
The Advanced Display Method uses some of the features provided by Microsoft DirectX™ as a part of its message delivery technology. You may have installed DirectX™ and it may work with some other programs that you may have on your computer. However, there may be circumstances under which SublimX may not be able to utilize its Advanced Display Method. The Advanced Display Method demands highly sophisticated functionality from your display device (the monitor) and the display adapter card. Not all equipments can accommodate such a demand under all screen resolutions. In those circumstances a notice to this effect will appear on the Display Page of the Properties Dialog Box and SublimX will automatically revert to a less sophisticated display method to deliver its messages. This will slightly reduce the technical performance of SublimX, but it still will be sufficiently fast in displaying subliminal messages so as not to affect the program's overall performance.
To stop this, go to the Display Page of the Properties Dialog Box and uncheck the Advanced Display Method Checkbox. The Advanced Display Method of SublimX utilizes the maximum capabilities of your computer's display subsystem. Some display cards, when operating at particular resolutions, will cause jitters on the monitor, when pushed to their limit. If you see jitters (not occasional flashes), uncheck the Advanced Display Method checkbox.
If you are using an older version of Windows on a slow computer and are planning to record a CD (or a DVD), you should suspend SublimX. You do not need to do anything when reading CD's.
When recording (writing) a CD, the CD drive needs to have maximum access to your computer hardware. You should suspend SublimX while recording the CD, and restart SublimX afterwards.
To suspend SublimX, use the Suspend Subliminal Messages menu option on the Popup Menu. To restart SublimX, use the Restart Subliminal Messages menu option on the Popup Menu.
