Installing from the Web

To install SublimX products from the web, you should visit SublimX Download Center.  The Download Center is a secured area. You must have a Download Certificate to enter.  If you have received a Download Certificate from us, then there should be a link to the Download Center in the email. In most cases, the link would include your Download Certificate. Thus, if you click on it, you will automatically enter the Download Center.

If the link is not available or does not include a Download Certificate, please go to our Download Center at https://www.SublimX.com/DownloadCenter, and enter your Download Certificate.

Once in the Download Center, you will see the status of your downloads. If any product needs to be downloaded, you will also see the download tool. Click "Start Download," and follow the instructions. Your product will be downloaded and installed.

As a part of the download process, the SublimX product packages that you have purchased are saved on your hard drives. Each product comes in a single package. Package files are named as "slxXXnnn.exe" where "XY" are letters or numbers and "nnn" numbers.  These files are stored in the "My Documents\SublimX Packages" folder on your hard drive.  You can also look for them by using Windows Explorer to search for files with a name pattern of "slx*.exe" on your hard drives. Please backup these files in case you may need to reinstall SublimX at a future date.

If package files are downloaded to your computer, but are not installed, you can locate them, as described above, and then run them to install your SublimX. To run a package file, locate it using Windows Explorer and then double click on it. Simply follow the instructions given by the setup program and SublimX will be installed on your computer in a few seconds.  Repeat this process for all SublimX package files that you have. There is no harm in attempting to reinstall a package multiple times. The installer program will handle the necessary considerations.

Installing from the CD

If you are installing SublimX from a CD, place the SublimX CD in your CD-ROM drive and wait for a few seconds. On most computers the installation should start automatically. If that did not happen, go to the Start menu, select Run, type "d:\Autorun" (where d is the drive letter for your CD-ROM drive), and click OK. Simply follow the instructions given by the Setup program and SublimX will be installed on your computer in a few seconds.

Before installing SublimX please carefully read the License Agreement.  Install SublimX only if you agree with the terms of the agreement. Otherwise, please follow the steps outlined in the agreement.

Installing Multiple Titles of SublimX

If you have multiple titles of SublimX simply install them over each other in the same folder. The Setup program will take care of all conflict resolutions.  You do not need to worry about anything.  Just make sure you keep the same installation folder for all titles which you are installing on your computer. You do not need to remember in which folder you installed an earlier title of SublimX. The installation program will find that out and will handle the necessary steps to properly install SublimX.

SublimX automatically detects all the titles installed on your computer and rotates through all titles while delivering subliminal messages.

You can use the Titles Page of the Properties Dialog Box to select or unselect the titles which are used by SublimX to display subliminal messages.

Upgrading the Operating System

From time to time Microsoft updates various versions of its Windows operating system by issuing a service pack.  It is always a good practice to install the most recent service pack for your operating system.  Service packs update the operating system, rectify newly-discovered problems, and enhance the performance of the operating system. You may wish to visit Microsoft's web site and download and install the latest service pack for your operating system. The address for Microsoft's web site is http://www.Microsoft.com Once there, use their search engine to locate the latest service pack for your operating system.

SublimX does not require you to install a service pack, but doing so may improve the performance and functionality of your computer.

Installing Microsoft® DirectX™

Microsoft® DirectX™ is an enhancement to your operating system provided by Microsoft® free of charge. You do not need to install DirectX™ to use SublimX, but we recommend that you do so.

If you are using Windows® ME, 98, 2000, or XP, DirectX™ is automatically installed on your computer, when you install the operating system.  If you are using Windows® 95 or Windows NT® 4, DirectX™ may have been installed on your computer or you can install it separately.

If you are using Windows® ME, 95 or 98, you may install DirectX™ from the SublimX CD.  The DirectX™ setup program is located in "d:\DirectX" folder on your CD-ROM (where "d" is the letter of the CD-ROM drive). Place the CD in your drive, on almost all computers the CD Browser should start automatically.  If so, click "Install Microsoft® DirectX™ 6.1" on the CD Browser.  If the CD Browser did not start automatically, use Windows Explorer, go to the "d:\" folder on the CD (where "d" is the letter of the CD-ROM drive) and click "Autorun." The main dialog for SublimX Setup will appear.  Click "Install Microsoft DirectX," to install DirectX.™

If you do not have the SublimX® CD or if (at a later date) you wish to use a newer version of DirectX,™ please visit Microsoft's web site and download and install the latest version of DirectX™ free of charge.

If you are using Windows NT® 4, you must install Service Pack 3 (or higher) which also installs a version of DirectX™ suitable for NT 4.  You may download and install the latest Service Pack (currently SP 6) for NT 4, free of charge,  from Microsoft's web site for Windows NT® Service Pack 6.  The address of the main page of Microsoft's web site is www.Microsoft.com.

DirectX™ will be installed on the same drive where your operating system is installed. You need under 100 MB of free space to install DirectX.™ Some of this area is used as scratch space and will be released after the installation is completed.  This is specially true if you are replacing an older version of DirectX.™

Uninstalling SublimX

To uninstall SublimX® please follow the following steps:

Please terminate SublimX before attempting to uninstall it.  To terminate SublimX please, see Terminating SublimX in SublimX Help Manual.  The uninstaller will not try to remove a file or folder that you may have created or placed in the SublimX's installation folder.  As a general rule, however, it is not good practice to put your own files in the folders of an installed program.

If you have downloaded SublimX's setup program from the web and the setup program is still located on your computer, you may wish to locate and delete the setup file manually. The setup file is named slxSetupxxx.exe (where "xxx" may be any combination of characters and numbers depending on the titles you have selected).  You can find that file, using the "Find" tool provided by Windows Explorer.  We recommend, however, that you save your original setup file in a safe location, so that you will be able to install SublimX in the future if you so desire.
